BA (Hons) Architecture

I have had a passion for architecture since I was young after personally experiencing the building process when observing my parents commission and build their individual home. The building development fascinated me and sparked my enthusiasm in the subject. This later inspired me to study at Northumbria University on a course which provided me with a much deeper insight into the development of design.

I am particularly interested by the designs of modern Japanese architecture and the Tiny House Movement. This style often has a heavy emphasis on nature due to the deeply rooted beliefs within the culture. I often find the use of space in these designs are especially innovative which force the architect or designer to use the available area efficiently.

On this website you can find a resume, as well as a portfolio demonstrating my abilities and design methods. Should you wish to contact me, the button below will take you to my contact page.

Northumbria University

I completed the course with a Second-Class Honours degree in Architecture. The nature of the course allowed me to be involved in projects from the concept through to completion. I gained an understanding in the management of these projects and how they work in the real world, including studying the RIBA Plan of Work and applying this to my own projects. Technological and environmental factors were also studied on the course, which allowed me to consider these aspects within the design process. I believe these factors are important as they consider how the building will work in the context of its site, including how things such as sunlight, heating and ventilation will work.

Summer School

I was chosen to represent my school on a lottery funded arts summer school located at Harewood House. The course allowed me to work with a mix of exciting new materials including photograms, stonework and calligraphy. The summer school explored not only the ranges in media within the arts, but also let us have an in depth look at the estate and its history. I particularly found the history of the main house fascinating, including the past house which was demolished when the newer one was completed.
